'Pat a pan' - French Traditional, anon., arranged and performed by Daniel Mantey - Music All Sorts; hurdy-gurdy, 3 sopranino recorders, voice & drum, with Ami Mantey and Kenji Mantey - vocals ('pat a pat a pan...'). Mostly remember this carol from a Bing Crosby Holiday Albumn that I grew up with (and I now have the CD of!). Great tune! Maybe from the16th or 17th century? I arranged it closer to how an 18th century ensemble might have done the piece, turning it eventyually into a many-voiced fugue (including drum and trumpette!) Oh, that 'other' percussion sound is the hurdy-gurdy's trumpette! And what brilliant 'pat a pans' from Ami (then 9) and Kenji (then 7)!!! This was recorded a good 4 years ago, and wish I had had better studio technique back then; way too much work to do this one again! Hope you enjoy! Happy holidays indeed!!!
